Our final recommendation from Schwinn is a Tricycle. This is in fact not a real folding bike, but it is extremely practical and very useful. When comparing the Tricycle to a normal folding bike, you can store a lot of stuff on the included bag, hence the Tricycle is super practical for shopping trips. However, with this bike you do not get the comfort of storing. The reason, why we also wanted to include this bike in the list is that we have observed that many folding bike lovers get bored with their bike after a while. How to unfold / fold a Schwinn.

Below you can find an excellent video how to unfold / fold a Schwinn folding bike.(starting at 00:41)

The steps to fold the bike are:

1. First open the lock that holds together the bike.
2. In the next step, you can fold the bike to the side.
3. Put the pedals, as shown in the video, above the wheel.
4. Release the handle bars and fold them to the side.
5. Finally you can also adjust the seat. Voila you are finished.

To unfold the bicycle just start at 5 and go to step one.

Warranties

First register your bicycle with Schwinn. You can do that directly on the Schwinnbike.com homepage.

Why register your bike? Schwinn promises that if your bike gets stolen or lost, Schwinn can provide additional information like the specific bike id for your folding bike.

Even if your bike gets disassembled, Schwinn can identify the different parts of your bike.

Generally, Schwinn has a rather limited warranty. There are two cases of warranties you can claim with Schwinn, either Schwinn Limited Warranty – Independent Bike Dealer or Schwinn Limited Lifetime Warranty and Policy – Mass Retailer.

When reading through these two types of Warranties, you will find out that Schwinn, in general, only covers your bike if some parts arrive already broken or break within 30 days.

How to file a warranty claim

Generally, if you bought your bike via amazon you can reach directly Schwinn. If you got your bike from a small bike store, then asking them for your warranty claim is usually the best starting point.

You can write to customerservice@pacific-cycle.com stating your contact information. If your claim gets approved then Schwinn will send you the claimed bike parts immediately and without any costs.
